The date for the 2015 edition of the L-Għanja tal-Poplu music festival has been announced. The 39th edition of the popular annual festival, which is dedicated entirely to the songs sung in the Maltese language, will be held on March 21 at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University of Malta.
Authors, composers, singer-songwriters and bands are invited to submit their songs up to and including January 23, 2015, following which the selection of songs that will feature in the final stage of the festival will be held. A full set of rules along with the application form are available to download from www.ghanjafest.com.
The stage design for the 2015 festival will be in the hands of Ino Bonello, while the sound will be provided by BESTEAM-audio. The poster for the 2015 edition was designed by Jimmy Grima. A press launch for the festival will be held at St James Cavalier on Thursday, January 15, 2015, during which a number of songs from previous editions of the L-Għanja tal-Poplu festival will be played live. L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2015 is being organized with the collaboration and support of the Centre for Creativity, Valletta 2018 and the Malta Arts Fund.
