It has indeed been a long time coming; possibly one of the most anticipated local releases in recent years, and the day has finally arrived. Come Saturday, August 27, Falcon’s Flying Circus will be launching it self-titled debut album with a live performance at Zion, Marsaskala, an event that will also feature Fuzzhoneys playing an opening set.
The songs on the album have been written over a number of years, with many of them having been performed live during the countless performances that Falcon’s Flying Circus has played these past few years. However, the album has never before been performed live in its entirety, making the launch gig all the more special for the band as well as all those who have been eagerly enthusing about this album.
Reflecting the diversity that exists in each individual member's influences, the album will offer a collection of songs which, despite sharing a common thread, are in effect rather different from each other at the same time. Rooted in old-school rock, the inclusion of instruments such as trumpet, violin, flute, classical guitar and different percussive elements essentially guarantees that the featured songs will also project a particular freshness in their composition.
The album, which is being released through Reciprocal Records, will be on sale at the event for €12 (including entrance). It can also be pre-ordered online at Reciprocal Records here.
Falcon’s Flying Circus is David Aquilina (vocals), Kurt Micallef (guitar), Peter Gauci (bass) and Spike Refalo (drums).
