Having wowed local audiences with her interpretation of the song Kewkba during this year's Malta Eurovision Song Contest, there is no doubt that Janice Mangion was one of the shining stars that stood out above the rest during that same festival. Apart from working on new material, as artists always are, the young singer will soon be heading for Eastern Europe, where she will be performing at the biggest international music competition in that region.
The Slaviansky Bazaar in Vitebsk, Belarus is a renowned music event, albeit one that has not seen a great deal of Maltese presence in the past. In fact, Janice is one of the very few Maltese artists to be selected for this prestigious music competition. The event is quite prestigious, to the point that it has kick-started the careers of many performers, among them Zeljko Joksimovic, Tose Proeski, Donny Montell and Ruslana. It has also featured quite a few big names, such as Albano, Alexander Rybak, Blue, Sergey Lazarev and Kostas Martakis.
The festival will run from July 9 to July 16, and Janice will perform a selection of songs including of course, Kewkba. Her participation in this music competition comes as a result of a collaboration between her manager Marc Calleja Bayliss and Evelina Batey, the local representative of major music competitions in Eastern countries.
