The Wedding Present made themselves known from the get-go with a debut album named after the notorious Northern Irish football legend George Best. In truth however, The Wedding Present could have called their album anything, as their star was firmly in the ascendant at the time thanks to their self-styled jangly pop tunes from up North. Their sound has evolved since the heady days of 1987, and despite a seven-year break in 1997, the Leeds band has lost none of its verve or edge since reforming back in 2004, releasing no fewer than 34 singles, 9 studio albums, 2 EP's and 5 live albums in the three decades they have graced the world of indie music with their presence.
The Wedding present are headlining the NBM concert taking place on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Organized by Hairy Amp and Trackage Scheme, the event also features London alt-rock band Happyness, Dutch artist Weval and Spanish artist Pional, the latter two from the world of electronica.
