Due to inclement weather, the 2019 edition of the HillTop Rock Festival has been rescheduled and will now take place on Saturday, December 7, 2019. This year, HillTop Rock will welcome upon its stage the Queen of Malta’s pop scene, Ira Losco, in a concert that aims to feature the best local talent on the grandest of stages.

The concert, organised by MedDad Live and sponsored by the Ministry for Gozo will start at 8.30pm, and will be held in Victory Square, Xaghra. Ira Losco will be supported by Gozo’s DCapitals Big Band, which is well-renowned for its ability to energise any audience and the concert will be hosted by DJ Frank Zammit.

Apart from being Malta's best-selling musical artist for the last decade, Ira Losco has released 6 studio albums, represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest twice and is one of the four judges for X-Factor Malta. Her albums have reached the top position on iTunes for record-breaking weeks, and her collaborations with David Correy and Jason Derulo further affirmed her standing as an international artist. As observed by MTV Network Europe, “She’s a true artist, the whole deal”.

DCapitals Big Band is a fifteen-piece band that was founded back in August 2014. WIth a repertoire that is truly versatile and vibrant, the band has performed both locally and abroad, including San Remo, Palermo and Liberec (Czech Republic).

As for HillTop Rock, the concert was first launched at the 2018 Fig Festival, organised by the Xaghra Local Council. A grand turnout and a spectacular show meant that the concert had to be back this year. Remaining true to its aim, the concert provides a stage for professional local talent, delivering a show to be remembered.

Xaghra is well-known for its bustling square, dotted with award-winning restaurants, cafes and bars. It is also home to some of the most stunning views on the island. HillTop Rock will add to the energy already present on a daily basis. The concert will be held under a tent to provide a comfortable concert-experience in the case of rain. Entrance is free.
